Veikkaus achieves EcoVadis Silver Medal
Veikkaus has been awarded a Silver Medal in the international EcoVadis sustainability assessment. EcoVadis evaluates companies’ sustainability performance across four areas: environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. More than 175,000 companies from 230 industries around the world are included in the assessment.
EcoVadis is an international sustainability assessment system that provides companies with an independent framework for developing and benchmarking their ESG work. Based on the assessment, a company may be awarded a Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze Medal if certain score thresholds are exceeded.
This was the third time Veikkaus participated in the assessment, and in this round we received an overall score of 74/100 across the different assessment areas. This means that we rank among the top 15% of companies assessed internationally and have improved our result in line with our target, rising from last year’s Bronze level.

We want to continue advancing our sustainability efforts ambitiously and systematically, and to set our sights on achieving even better scores in the future, says Tuomo Puumala, EVP, Data, AI, Responsibility, Public Affairs and Customer Service.
In the assessment, Veikkaus’ strengths included sustainable procurement, attention to labour and human rights, and ethical business principles.
